The International Market Development team includes Travel Media, Travel Trade, Tourism Development, Edmonton
Experience and Stakeholder Relations.
Notable 2018 media coverage includes: “A love letter to Edmonton,” Bettina Hensel, Germany; “Ten Spots for a
Late-night Nosh Across Canada,” enRoute magazine; “Winter’s Play Paradise,” Sara van Geloven, Lonely Planet.
Tourism’s Travel Trade team increases access to Edmonton by selling the destination to tour operators, product
buyers and travel agents. The team works with operators in Canada, China, Germany, the Netherlands, the U.K. and
The Tourism Development team partnered with Parkbus and Elk Island National Park in 2018 to provide free
transportation to Elk Island National Park.
The Explore Edmonton Street Team, which launched in 2018, provided mobile visitor information services at
various events and festivals.
In September, the Stakeholder Relations team launched the new industry website.
